Overview We are seeking a talented and motivated Environmental Graphic Designer with a minimum of three years of proven experience in professional graphic design. Environmental Graphic Design experience is preferred.
Responsibilities This individual will work closely with project teams and the business development team to provide environmental graphic design (EGD) and production on a variety of project assignments. Projects include, but are not limited to, landscape design, urban design of public and privately-owned spaces, land use planning, and community development.
Qualifications Strong experience with design development, production art, and/or technical illustration is required. If attention to details is up your alley, including typography or spatial alignment, or a strong interest in how things work and can be improved; or a passion for bringing projects to life in the built environment, you will thrive in this role. Curiosity, autonomy, an interest in materials and sustainability, and a strong creative streak are desired.
Experience developing signage and wayfinding programs is preferred. Experience in working on various types of design and planning projects such as parks, resorts, civic wayfinding, and urban streetscapes is also preferred.
Successful candidates must possess proven technical and creative abilities as well as strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience working directly with peers, clients, and fabricators who are geographically separated is required. Some travel may be required, including the possibility of international travel. Additional requirements include a strong knowledge of typography and spatial reasoning, the ability to design for varying scales and use conditions, application of three-dimensional design thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines while managing many shifting priorities.
This is a unique position with some unique responsibilities and will require management of self and others. Proven experience with or a strong desire to watch signage projects develop from conceptual design through implementation is required. Construction documentation experience is preferred.
Experience with interactive and/or kinetic design for environments is preferred. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch
Up, and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. A two-year degree with a focus in graphic design or similar focus is also required.
Experience with signage code familiarity, HTML/ CSS, and proven proposal writing skills is strongly preferred.
Experience with 3D rendering software (Lumion, Twinmotion, Podium, or Enscape) is preferred. Compensation The pay for this position is $60,000-$70,000, based on experience. This position is benefits eligible. Benefits include comprehensive health, wealth and well-being benefits.
